Auburn Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education Met April 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The following members answered roll call at the regular meeting of the Auburn Board of Education: Present: Fred Jessup, Carl Kessler, Brad Smith, Matt Kern, Scott Norris, Josh Smith, and John Megginson. Also present were Darren Root, Nathan Essex, Dave Bates, Christy Bailey, Matt Grimm, Mark Dudley, Amy Donaldson, Jamie Kuhlmann and Michael Bates. Present: Sandy Jones, Ann Schmidt,

Katie Thompson, Kelsie Fairfull, Jodi Reese, Melissa Miller, Sarah Smith, Melinda Marques, Erin Bidleman and Ruby Howard, secretary to the board.

Kern moved to adopt the agenda. Kessler seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Kern yea              B. Smith yea

Kessler yea          J. Smith yea

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Megginson moved to go into Closed Session at 7:09 pm. Kessler seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Kern yea              B. Smith yea

Kessler yea          J. Smith yea

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried

Board came out of Closed Session at 7:24 pm.

Megginson moved to approve AEA 22/23/24 Agreement. Kessler seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried

Retiring Board members - Fred Jessup and Scott Norris

School board election results.

Jessup proclaimed Jamie Kuhlmann, Matthew Kern, Michael Bates, Josh Smith winners, each with four year terms.

President Pro Tempore appointed - John Megginson

Jamie Kuhlmann, Matthew Kern, Michael Bates, and Josh Smith took oath of office.

Kern made a motion for two-year terms for elected Board officers except treasurer, which will be a one year term. Kessler seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and the President declared the motion carried.

J. Smith moved to nominate John Megginson for Board President. With no other nominations, the President Pro Tem declared the nominations closed. The vote was unanimous and the President Pro Tem declared Megginson President by acclamation.

Megginson moved to nominate Carl Kessler for Board Vice-President. With no other nominations, the President declared the nominations closed. The vote was unanimous and the President declared Carl Kessler Vice-President by acclamation.

Carl Kessler moved to nominate Michael Bates for Board Secretary. With no other nominations, the President declared the nominations closed. The vote was unanimous and the President declared Michael Bates Secretary by acclamation.

Carl Kessler moved to nominate Josh Smith for Board Treasurer. With no other nominations, the President declared the nominations closed. The voting was unanimous for Josh Smith and the President declared Josh Smith Treasurer.

Kern moved to adopt the schedule of meeting dates and times as presented. Kessler seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and the President declared the motion carried.
