Auburn Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education Met May 27.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The following members answered roll call at the special meeting of the Auburn Board of Education: Present: John Megginson, Carl Kessler, Brad Smith, Jamie Kuhlmann, and Michael Bates. Absent: Josh Smith and Matt Kern. Also present were Darren Root, Nathan Essex, Dave Bates, and Christy Bailey. Present: Ryan, Katie, Griffin, & Gideon Gardner and Erin Bidleman.

C. Kessler moved to adopt the agenda. B. Smith seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

M. Bates yea      Megginson yea

Kern absent        B. Smith yea

Kessler yea         J. Smith absent

Kuhlman yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Kessler moved to accept varsity football coach’s resignation / retirement - Dave Bates. B Smith seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

M. Bates yea      Megginson yea

Kern absent        B. Smith yea

Kessler yea         J. Smith absent

Kuhlman yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

B. Smith moved to employ varsity football coach - Ryan Gardner. Kuhlmann seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

M. Bates yea      Megginson yea

Kern absent        B. Smith yea

Kessler yea         J. Smith absent

Kuhlman yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

B. Smith moved to adjourn at 7:08 pm. Bates seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

M. Bates yea      Megginson yea

Kern absent        B. Smith yea

Kessler yea         J. Smith absent

Kuhlman yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried
