II. RESOLUTIONS

1. Community Relations Commission recommend approval of the $10,000 Rockford REGROW Grant Awards to the following applicants:

Awaken Foundation L3C, Facts to Hard Hats

African-American Resource Center at Booker, Flourish: Start Strong Finish Strong

Discovery Center Museum of Rockford/National Society of Black Engineers Rockford Chapter, STEM on the Rock.

Rockford Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, La Semilla del Cambio (The Seed of Change)

Christian Union Church/Concerned Citizens United for Self Improvement, Community Kitchen

Alderman McNeely made a MOTION to LAYOVER the Resolution. Alderman Meeks SECONDED the MOTION. CARRIED 3-2

RESULT: LAID OVER

2. Committee recommends approval of a resolution for the Bird City Illinois Initiative.

Todd Cagnoni, City Administrator stated that earlier in the spring City Council approved a resolution related to migratory birds. This request comes from the Sinnissippi Audubon Society. They are working on an initiative called Bird City Illinois. The initiative is modeled after the same requirements as Wisconsin and Indiana's Bird City Recognition. They are working with the State of Illinois to get this initiative established. Rockford, Freeport and Waukegan are currently the cities that are participating at this point and time. There are no financial requirements in this resolution for the City.

Alderman Durkee made a MOTION to APPROVE. Alderman Prunty

SECONDED the MOTION. CARRIED 5-0

RESULT: APPROVED BY COMMITTEE [UNANIMOUS]

AYES: Durkee, McNeely, Hoffman, Prunty, Meeks

III. ADJOURNMENT
