City of Carlyle Zoning Board / Planning Commission met Oct. 21.

Call to Order/Roll Call
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bill Beckemeyer at 6 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Board members present included Bill Beckemeyer, Kristine Siegler, Matt Dannaman, Scott Rakers, and Wilson Brown. Gene Jurgensmeyer was absent. Others present included Steve Wilke, Don Schmitz, Sam Schmitz, Joel Laws, Mayor Judy Smith, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.
Approval of Minutes
After reviewing the minutes from the September 23, 2021, meeting, Matt Dannaman made a motion to approve the minutes. Wilson Brown seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.
Public Comments
There were no public comments.
Variance Request – Chad Isaak – 14633 State Route 127
Chad Isaak is requesting Zoning Board approval to construct a commercial building extension in a B-2 Highway Business District with a side setback of 6.5-feet on the north property line versus the required 8-foot side setback per City Code 40-4-46. Legal description of the property is as follows: Parcel ID 08-07-12-251-007, commonly known as 14633 State Route 127, Carlyle, Illinois, 62231. Kristine Siegler made a motion to approve the variance request. Scott Rakers seconded the motion. After roll call, all were found in favor.
Variance Request – Gerhard Properties LLC – 2517 Franklin Street
Steve Wilke is requesting Zoning Board approval to construct an accessory use storage structure in an I-1 Industrial District with a structure height of 38-feet versus the maximum 25-foot height restriction for accessory use structures per City Code 40-3-12.1. The legal description of the property is Parcel ID 08-07-13-301-001m commonly known as 2517 Franklin Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Kristine Siegler made a motion to approve the variance request. Wilson Brown seconded the motion. After roll call, all were found in favor.
New Business
Andy introduced Joel Laws who will be starting as City Administrator on November 15th. Mayor Smith stated that she is actively searching for another Zoning Board member.

With no further business to discuss, Matt Dannaman made a motion to adjourn. Bill Beckemeyer seconded the motion. Finding all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
