Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Boone County?

There were 11 offenders living in Boone County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows 10 men and one woman were released in Boone County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 39. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 1987.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Michael Long. He was convicted of a property crime in 1987 when he was 27 years old. He is now 61.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2021 in each Boone County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
