Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Jackson County?

There were 19 offenders living in Jackson County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows 16 men and three women were released in Jackson County. The median age of the parolees was 40. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2020, and the oldest was a 70-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Da'Quarii Mathis. He was convicted in 2010 when he was 17 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2021 in each Jackson County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
