City of Loves Park City Council met Nov. 22.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

Mayor Gregory Jury called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

City Clerk Bob Burden, opened the meeting with an invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Aldermen John Pruitt, Jim Thompson, Mark Peterson, A. Marie Holmes, Robert Schlensker, Doug Allton, Nancy Warden, John Jacobson, Jim Puckett, Dan Jacobson

Also Present: City Clerk Bob Burden

City Attorney Gino Galluzzo

The Journal of Proceedings for the regular meeting of November 15, 2021 was approved as submitted by the city clerk on a motion by Alderman Schlensker. Second by Alderman Allton. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson, Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson)

Mayor Jury thanked everyone that participated with the “Light Up The Parks” parade and he announced that the best-decorated floats and residence were Carlson’s Boys and Girls Club, the Lions Club, Gleason Cutting Tools and 6328 Elm Avenue. Mayor Jury also thanked Cimco Recycling for sponsoring the prizes for the event.

Mayor Jury announced that trash pickup will be delayed by one day this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Alderman John Jacobson presented the General Fund and all other bills dated November 15, 2021 in the amount of $432,902.59, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson, Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson)

Alderman John Jacobson presented the Water Department bills dated November 15, 2021 in the amount of $239,923.97, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson, Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson)

Alderman Allton presented the Police Department Report dated November 22, 2021; presented the Fire Department Report dated November 22, 2021, to be placed on file.

Alderman Schlensker presented the Street Department Report dated November 22, 2021; presented the Water Department Report for November 22, 2021, to be placed on file.

Alderman John Jacobson of the Finance and Administration Committee presented the General Fund and all other bills dated November 22, 2021 in the amount of $2,458,360.34, for consideration at next week’s city council meeting; presented the minutes from the committee meeting held November 15, 2021, to be placed on file.

Alderman Schlensker of the Public Works Committee presented the Water Department list of bills dated November 22, 2021 in the amount of $364,610.98, for consideration at next week’s city council meeting.

Alderman John Jacobson presented the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLVED, that by the adoption of this Resolution, that the Chief of Police is authorized to purchase 41 Body Worn Cameras, with all associated hardware and software, from WatchGuard Video, 415 E. Exchange Street, Allen, Texas 75002, per the attached negotiated quote. The total cost of the Body Camera Project is $183,785.00, and shall be paid through a Video as a Service Contract, with 5 annual payments, Due at the time of execution of the contract and for the first year, is $47,353.00, which shall be paid from Account No. 01-13-9240 (New Equipment). Second by Alderman Thompson. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson, Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson)

RESOLUTION NO. 21-107

Alderman Warden presented for second reading an ordinance providing for a Class A Liquor License for Evie A, Inc. DBA Marty Gras Slots II, at 6500 North Second Street, and moved for passage of the ordinance. Second by Alderman Dan Jacobson. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson, Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson)

ORDINANCE NO. 4443-21

Alderman Warden presented for second reading an ordinance providing for a Variance in curb cut for the property known as 374 Trent Lane, and moved for passage of the ordinance. Second by Alderman Schlensker. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson, Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson)

ORDINANCE NO. 4444-21

Mayor Jury wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

Alderman John Jacobson moved that the meeting be adjourned. Second by Alderman Schlensker. Motion carried by voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
