Rockford University Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 30
The Rockford University men's basketball team (8-3) defeated North Park University (6-3) in its first game in 15 days, 75-68. Rockford won the three-point battle, shooting 29.2 percent to North Park's 11.8 percent to help the Regents maintain the lead for a majority of the second half. Brandon Emerick was a key contributor on offense, making five of the team's seven total three-pointers, which sealed the deal late in the game, securing Rockford's eighth win of the season, 75-68.

- It was a slow start for both sides; North Park scored a three-pointer at the 18:23 mark and didn't see a response until the 17:37 mark with a three-pointer by Brandon Emerick.
- Rockford then went on a 15-7 run over the next seven minutes; Ashton Singleton led the run with eight points.
- The scoring picked up and North Park responded shortly after, taking the lead 32-38 with 4:15 left in the first half.
- It was a balanced end to the first half, Rockford scoring six compared to North Park's five, leaving the score at 37-34 in favor of North Park going into the break.
- Coming into the second half, Rockford took back the lead on an 8-3 run led by Jaden Bell and did not give it back for the rest of the game.
- Despite taking the lead, Rockford was unable to pull away, each side trading points for the next nine minutes of competition; Rockford scored 16, including two three-pointers by Brandon Emerick, and North Park kept up with 15 of its own.
- With less than a minute left in the game, the Regents maintained a 5-point lead and made their free-throws when it mattered most, securing the victory 75-68.
- Brandon Emerick finished with a team-high 23 points and scored five of the team's seven three-pointers. Emerick also tallied 4 assists and 4 steals to help the Regents. He is continuing to push towards the career three-point records, now 16 attempts from the three-point attempts record and 32 made three-pointers from the three-point makes record.
- Micah Swanson recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He also tallied 2 assists.
- Ashton Singleton made the other two Regents three-pointers on his way to 10 points, he also secured 3 rebounds.
- Charles Burnell led the team in assists with 6 and had Rockford's only block of the game.
