City of Loves Park City Council met Dec. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Gregory Jury called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

City Treasurer John Danielson, opened the meeting with an invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Aldermen Robert Schlensker, Doug Allton (via Zoom), Nancy Warden, John Jacobson, Jim Puckett, Dan Jacobson, John Pruitt, Mark Peterson

Absent: Aldermen Jim Thompson, A. Marie Holmes

Also Present: City Clerk Bob Burden

1. Approve Minutes 12/13/21

The Journal of Proceedings for the regular meeting of December 13, 2021 was approved as submitted by the city clerk on a motion by Alderman Schlensker. Second by Alderman Pruitt. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

2. Commerce Commission Hearing

Received a notice from the Illinois Commerce Commission of hearings regarding Commonwealth Edison Company, to be held in the offices of the Commission, Chicago, IL. Placed on file.

3. Council Meeting Canceled/ Garbage Pickup

Mayor Jury announced that the council meeting scheduled for Monday, December 27, 2021 has been canceled and the next council meeting will be Monday, January 3, 2021. He also announced that trash pickup will not be delayed this week and will be picked up on Friday.

4. K-9 Fundraiser

Mayor Jury reported that the Loves Park Police Department K-9 Fundraiser was held over the weekend, he added that it was a great event and they were able to raise $40,000.00.

5. General Fund Bills

Alderman John Jacobson presented the General Fund and all other bills dated December 13, 2021 in the amount of $318,763.99, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

6. General Fund Bills

Alderman John Jacobson presented the General Fund and all other bills dated December 20, 2021 in the amount of $153,279.66, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

7. Water Department Bills

Alderman John Jacobson presented the Water Department bills dated December 13, 2021 in the amount of $203,421.81, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

8. Water Department Bills

Alderman John Jacobson presented the Water Department bills dated December 20, 2021 in the amount of $49,578.80, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

9. Public Safety Report

Alderman Puckett presented the Police Department Report dated December 20, 2021; presented the Fire Department Report dated December 20, 2021, to be placed on file.

10. Public Works Report

Alderman Schlensker presented the Street Department Report dated December 20, 2021; presented the Water Department Report for December 20, 2021, to be placed on file.

11. Finance Committee

Alderman John Jacobson of the Finance and Administration Committee presented the minutes from the committee meeting held December 13, 2021, to be placed on file.

12. ORD 4452-21 Class B Liquor License For 6480 E. Riverside Blvd.

Alderman Warden presented for second reading an ordinance providing for a Class B Liquor License for (Shell Gas) 6480 E. Riverside Blvd., and moved for passage of the ordinance. Second by Alderman Schlensker. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

ORDINANCE NO. 4452-21

13. ORD 4453-21 Class D Liquor License For 6480 E. Riverside Blvd.

Alderman Warden presented for second reading an ordinance providing for a Class D Liquor License for (Deli) 6480 E. Riverside Blvd., and moved for passage of the ordinance. Second by Alderman Schlensker. Motion carried. 8 Ayes (Aldermen Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Peterson) 2 Absent (Aldermen Thompson, Holmes)

14. Adjourn

Alderman John Jacobson moved that the meeting be adjourned. Second by Alderman Schlensker. Motion carried by voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
