Behavioral Health Clinician
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides mental health consultation and treatment, family and community support and case management services specific to the Program Plan outlined under the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board funding and Remedies substance use disorder services program. Reviews selected cases and assist other clinicians in client case management, referrals for psychiatric/psychological/mental health services and in-service training. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides mental health consultation and treatment, family and community support and case management services.Provides mental health consultation during weekly clinical staff meeting and/or at other times as appropriate.Reviews patient cases upon request and offers advice relative to all aspects of patient care.Coordinates referrals of patients to psychiatric/psychological/mental health services and, as appropriate, acts as patient advocate with other organizations.Advises the Agency’s MISA (mentally ill substance abuser) Program staff upon request.Advises on the assessment, admission, treatment planning, continuing care, recovery and discharge planning and other matters for patients.Provides family, individual and group therapy as requested.Provides Co-occurring Groups/Mental Health (Seeking Safety/DBT)May assist in utilization review and in reviewing and advising upon written policies and procedures.Assists in the Agency’s Performance Improvement Program as requested.Performs all job functions in a professional manner.Performs all job functions consistent with confidentiality regulations, ethical practices and Agency polices and mission.Presents and maintains a professional image in dress, behavior, and work habits.Promotes a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace that enhances and furthers the Mission, Vision and Values Statement.Other duties as assigned__________________________________________________________________________________________________________KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Has a good, working knowledge of the psychiatric/psychological /mental health resources in the communities served by the Agency.Has a thorough knowledge, as evidenced by training, of the fields of addiction and mental illness.Basic computer skills.Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public__________________________________________________________________________________________________________EDUCATION: Master’s degree in health service-related field AND LCPC license credential.EXPERIENCE: Has worked a minimum of one (1) year with patients who have alcohol or other drug addictions.* All newly hired employees are required to be COVID vaccinated or have an approved exemption on file.
