City of Carlyle Finance Committee met Dec. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The Finance Committee was called to order by Chairman Don Perez at 6:45 p.m. at the Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, Illinois 62231. Committee members present were Committee Chairman Don Perez, Alderman Jeff Taylor, and Alderman John Hodapp. Others present were Mayor Judy Smith, City Administrator Brad Myers, Aldermen Tammy Peters, Scott Diekemper, Mike Jansen, Mike Meskil, and City Clerk Rita Jurgensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Alderman Jeff Taylor and seconded by Alderman John Hodapp to approve the minutes from the November 28, 2022, minutes. The minutes were approved by voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Alderman Don Perez presented the claims against the city. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve the claims and it was seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor. The motion was approved by voice vote.

FY ’23 Tax Levy Ordinance

Alderman Don Perez presented the FY23 Tax Levy Ordinance. City Administrator Brad Myers said that the amount levied for taxes is the allowable 5% increase without having to have a hearing. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to take the FY23 Tax Levy Ordinance to the city council. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Renew Boiler and Machinery Policy

Alderman Don Perez then presented the renewal of the boiler and machinery policy. City Administrator Brad Myers apologized for not having it on the agenda sooner, but it was received Friday afternoon. He said that it was the same policy, same deductibles, and the same price as last year. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve the policy and recommend it to the city council. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Unfinished Business

City Administrator Brad Myers spoke about the King Kat Fishing Tournament. He said every year they do the tournament, and the city goes in half with the county. This covers sponsorship for the tournament and rooms for the guys coming down for it.

There was no new business.

Executive Session

The Committee did not enter executive session.

Adjournment

At 6:49 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman John Hodapp. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor and was approved by voice vote.
