Village of Pecatonica Public Works Committee met Jan. 19.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
1. Call to Order- The meeting was called to order by Committee Chairman Tom Gipe at 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
2. Roll call – Chairman Tom Gipe, and Village Trustees Gerald Howard and Bill Determan were present.
Also in attendance were Trustee Tom Heister, Public Works Director Nick Berry, and Village Engineer Derek Thompson
3. Additions/Corrections to the Agenda-None
4. Approve the Agenda as Amended
A motion was made by Trustee Determan and seconded by Trustee Howard to approve the agenda. Discussion. A roll call vote was taken. All in favor. Motion approved 3-0-0.
5. Public Comment- None
6. Approve the December 15, 2022 Minutes
A motion was made by Trustee Howard and seconded by Trustee Determan to approve the December 15, 2022 meeting minutes. Discussion. A roll call vote was taken. All in favor. Motion approved 3-0-0.
7. Discuss Contract with PDC for Well #3- Nick Berry discussed an email he received from Gene from PDC. On August 17, 2021, the Village Board approved the contract with PDC for the Labor portion of the project. Discussion. There was a change order that was approved on January 6. 2022. There is an outstanding invoice for $4,581.00, this has never been billed due to the fire at the well house. Nick will set up a meeting with Bennett Construction, Gene from PDC and Fehr Graham to review the contract. Discussion this will be discussed at future meetings and then go to the full board for approval.
8 Discuss Maintenance Repairs to Waste Water Treatment Plant Generator- Possible Action – Rush Power was out and did general maintenance on the generator. They have pointed out a few repairs that are in need of repairs that are not covered under our maintenance contract. Discussion.
A motion was made by Chairman Gipe and seconded by Trustee Howard to approve the maintenance repairs by Rush Power not to exceed $2,000.00. Discussion. A roll call vote was taken. All in favor. Motion approved 3-0-0.
9. Begin Discussion on Sidewalk Replacement Program for the Village – The committee reviewed the Sidewalk Replacement Programs from the Village of Forreston and the City of Freeport. Discussion. Trustee Determan had previously designed and brought to the Regular Board a program for the Village of Pecatonica. We will continue this discussion at upcoming meetings.
10. Engineer’s Report- Derek gave an update on the progress at well house #3. He also discussed the culvert cleaning project. Discussion
11. Adjourn
A motion was made by Trustee Howard and seconded by Trustee Determan to adjourn the meeting. All in favor meeting adjourned at 7:47pm
