Village of Rockton Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met Feb. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Pursuant to a duly posted Notice and Agenda, a Special Meeting of The Village of Rockton Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 5:30 p.m. on February 28,2023 in the Rockton Municipal Center, 110 East Main Street. Rockton, Illinois. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Stewart at 5:31 p.m.

ROLL CALL AND ATTENDANCE

Chairman Stewart, Commissioner Gardner and Commissioner Winters were present for roll call- Police Chief Matt Hollinger and Attorney/Secretary Charles Kostantacos were also present

COMMUNICATIONS

No email has been received by the Commission

UNFTNTSHED BUSINESS

Several Patrol Officer Candidates had been scheduled for oral interviews. Commissioner Winters moved to adjourn to Closed Session pursuant to Section 2(cX1) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act. Chairman Stewart seconded the motion. Commissioner Gardner stated that he did not feel that it was necessary to close the meeting. After discussion, and prior to a vote on the motion, Commissioner Winters withdrew his motion.

Oral interviews took place in the open meeting. Each Candidate was asked identical questions by the Commissioners. Each Commissioner provided his interview score to the Secretary to the Board at the conclusion of each interview. The following Candidates were interviewed: Michael Slack, Elizabeth Harkins, Matthew Baade, David Murray and Joshua Carrasquillo.

CLOSED SESSION

None.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business before the Commission, Commissioner Gardner moved to adjourn the meeting, Commissioner Winters seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned by unanimous vote at 7:39 p.m.
