II. COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. 2023-97-CR - Committee recommends approval of the Utility Easement Vacation within Plat No. 1 of Northrock. The Legal Director shall prepare the appropriate ordinance.
Ald. Meeks asked Staff to explain what a utility vacation easement is. Todd Cagnoni, City Administrator for the City of Rockford explained that public improvements, including easements become, or may become a part of the platting process that may be needed for the development of a piece of land. For example, a utility easement would accommodate, ComEd, or Comcast, which serve private and public properties in our community.
A MOTION was made by Ald. Bonne to APPROVE the request. The motion was SECONDED by Ald. Meeks, and CARRIED by a vote of 4-0.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
