Village of Rockton Budget & Finance Committee met Aug. 1.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Dennis Hildebrandt, Jodi May, Michelle Prather and Dave Winters Staff present: Arianne Honkamp (6:43 pm)
Absent: Scott Danielson
Motion by Ms. May second by Mr. Winters, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of July 18, 2023. All ayes. Motion approved 2-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
SPECIAL WARRANT CONSIDERATIONS
None.
RECOMMENDATION OF PAYMENT
Bills were reviewed and recommended for approval in the amount of $370,948.22.
MAYOR PETERSON
None.
VILLAGE TREASURER, DENNIS HILDEBRANDT
Mr. Hildebrandt stated that he sent out the cash needs report and that he will transfer $150,000 from the Illinois funds to cover the bills.
Mr. Hildebrandt advised the Committee that the auditors will be in for preliminary fieldwork on August 29th and that they will be back in October.
Mr. Hildebrandt added that there is a conference coming up for Caselle and that he would be interested in attending the conference. Mr. Hildebrandt said that he will get more information to share with the Committee.
DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN

JODI MAY, TRUSTEE
Ms. May discussed having Siepert itemize their invoices for the Village with the Committee. Ms. May inquired if the Village didn’t budget enough funds for the Village Treasurer because if the billing continues the way it has, the Village will be over budget. Mr. Hildebrandt stated that there was a lot of transition and learning the process so those months were probably a little heavier. Ms. May requested that Mr. Hildebrandt submit invoices similar to C.E.S. and the village attorney that entails breaking down their services. Mr. Hildebrandt said that he could provide whatever the Village would like as far as details go. Mr. Winters inquired if Mr. Hildebrandt is doing any work that the Village could be doing internally. Mr. Hildebrandt stated that he would have to think about that more, but that some bank reconciliations haven’t been coming out like they should. Ms. Prather said that there was $1,000 in reversals at the pool and that she needs to talk to Mr. Self about this.
