II. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES

III. TRAFFIC REQUESTS

A. New Business

1. Request in the 4th Ward, by Eddie Torrance, to establish all-way stop control at the intersection of Pepper Drive and Hermitage Trail, thus repealing the existing traffic control of Hermitage Trail stopping for Pepper Drive. (K. Lin reminded the Commission that this item had been laid over from the September meeting pending City staff determining what additional signage could be installed. After reviewing the signs to be installed, the requestor withdraw the request. Commission recommended taking “No Action.” Motion by K. Lin, seconded by B. Strawser, Voted 8- 0).

2. Request in the 9th Ward, by Earl Thomas Jr., 2107 Overdene Avenue, to repeal the restriction of “No Parking Any Time” on the south side of Canary Drive from Teal Lane to Schalck Drive. (K. Lin explained that while there are no signs on the south side of Canary Drive, there is an ordinance dating to 1976. There are No Parking Any Time signs along the north side but there is no ordinance. C. Tumeo and B. Strawser commented that one side should be restricted as it is difficult for their vehicles to maneuver when vehicles are parked on both sides. C. Tumeo also pointed out that the hydrants are located along the north side. K. Lin commented that, if it is decided to repeal the south side restriction and establish a north side restriction, the condition and spacing of the existing signs will be reviewed. Additional signs will likely be installed.

Commission recommended repealing the restriction of “No Parking Any Time” on the south side of Canary Drive from Teal Lane to Schalck Drive and establishing a restriction of “No Parking Any Time” on the north side of Canary Drive from Teal Lane to Schalck Drive. Motion by D. Ward, seconded by C. Tumeo, Voted 8-0).

3. Request in the 13th Ward, by City Staff, to establish a 20mph School Zone Speed Limit on Waldo Street from Elm Street to Chestnut Street. (K. Lin commented that a recent speeding concern brought staff’s attention to this area and it was noted that there was no school speed zone on Waldo Street. Commission recommended establishing a 20mph School Zone Speed Limit on Waldo Street from Elm Street to Chestnut Street. Motion by M. Slife, seconded by B. Strawser, Voted 8-0).
