Village of Rockton Budget & Finance Committee met Dec. 19.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Scott Danielson, Jodi May, Michelle Prather and Dave Winters Staff present: Dan Barber, Tricia Diduch and Chief Hollinger
Absent: Dennis Hildebrandt
Motion by Ms. May, second by Mr. Danielson, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of December 5, 2023. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
SPECIAL WARRANT CONSIDERATIONS
None.
RECOMMENDATION OF PAYMENT
Bills were reviewed and recommended for approval in the amount of $357,013.24.
MAYOR PETERSON
Mayor Peterson advised the Committee that Siepert’s contract with the Village ends in December, but that it will need to be extended until the transition with the Village Treasurer is complete. Mr. Winters stated that the Village will probably need more support staff.
VILLAGE TREASURER, DENNIS HILDEBRANDT
Mr. Winters stated that there were a few transfers for the TIFs and that everyone should have received the cash needs report from Mr. Hildebrandt.
DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN
Mr. Winters inquired about the tax abatement ordinance and the Village Clerk advised that it will be passed in January.
Mayor Peterson advised the Committee that he received a letter from S&H Nursery in reference to the storage facility that they let the police department use at no cost. Mayor Peterson said that S&H would like him to sign a letter so that they can use the donation as a tax write off. Mayor Peterson stated that he will have Atty. Szeto take a look at it before he signs it. The Committee was okay with this.
