City of Rockford Historic Preservation Commission met March 12.

Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

IV. NEW BUSINESS

1. 417 WALNUT STREET

Certificate of Appropriateness – Ricky Davis – 417 Walnut Street – replace the existing front door and sidelights with a bronze metal doorway system.

2. 904 NORTH PROSPECT STREET

Certificate of Appropriateness – Samantha Pajor – 904 North Prospect Street – install twelve new rooftop solar panels on the south portion of the garage roof facing Brownwood Drive.

3. 1020 NORTH SECOND STREET

Certificate of Appropriateness – Jacey Schmalen – 1020 North Second Street – allow roof repairs that include: 1) the replacement of existing slate saddle pieces, 2) installment of copper hip/ridge metal, 3) replacement of damaged and missing field slates, and 4) replacement of missing gutters and downspouts with like materials where needed as described on the submitted COA application.

4. 630 GARFIELD AVENUE

Certificate of Appropriateness – Helena & Jerzy Faltyn – 630 Garfield Avenue – construct a 14’ by 10’ freestanding gazebo in the rear yard.

5. 2929 CHARLES STREET

Certificate of Appropriateness – Scott Jensen – 2929 Charles Street – construction of a one-story entrance addition on the east exterior wall.

6. 211 - 213 WEST STATE STREET

Certificate of Appropriateness – Jeff Orduno – 211-213 West State Street – repair stucco, add a wall mural, add up-lighting, restore and alter exterior openings, replace the roof, and install new exterior signage as described on the submitted COA application.

7. 913 GARFIELD AVENUE

Certificate of Appropriateness – Chelsea Hunter – 913 Garfield Avenue – replace an existing chain-link fence with a 6’ tall pressure-treated wooden privacy fence along the alley.

8. 314 & 330 NORTH MAIN STREET

Certificate of Appropriateness – City of Rockford – 314 & 330 North Main Street – seeking reapproval of a COA approved on June 9, 2020. Façade Improvements for the Coronado Theatre including repair of the cast stone, glazed brick, terra cotta, and concrete brick, stone veneer EIFS, roof systems, windows, doors and entrance floors.
