VILLAGE TREASURER, SALLY BENNETT

Mrs. Bennett discussed changing the fiscal year to a calendar year with the Committee. Mrs. Bennett stated that she spoke to Chief Hollinger about this and inquired if we wanted to wait until we are fully staffed since Ms. Prather, Village Collector, is leaving her position at the Village. Mrs. Bennett added

that she would like to contact Civic because she has some questions about the software program. Mayor Peterson commented that we should wait to do this because there is enough going on at the Village. Mrs. Bennett agreed that if we can wait a year, that would be great. Ms. May inquired when the Village should start planning to switch to a calendar year in 2025. Mrs. Bennett stated that the Village should start planning in the spring or March of 2025.

Mrs. Bennett advised the Committee that there are some things that she would like to go over with Mr. Hildebrandt in regards to expenses versus revenues. Ms. May commented that we should be able to look at the current budget that was passed and start comparing the numbers as well.

Mrs. Bennett stated that she and Ms. Prather were looking at the numbers for the sales tax rebate for O’Reilly’s and questioned if the Village had a reciprocal agreement with them that allows the Village to have this information.
