Illinois State Representative John M. Cabello recently participated in the Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) at the State Capitol in Springfield. The event, which brings together responsible gun owners from across the state to advocate for their Second Amendment rights, was described by Cabello as a crucial opportunity for law-abiding citizens to make their voices heard.

Cabello emphasized the importance of IGOLD, stating, “IGOLD is always one of the most important advocacy days of the spring legislative session, especially as the Illinois Democrats continue their extreme quest to strip law-abiding citizens of our constitutional rights.” He praised the attendees, highlighting them as a true representation of responsible gun owners in Illinois who prioritize safety and education in exercising their right to bear arms.

In a statement, Cabello noted the unfair stigma often placed on law-abiding gun owners due to the actions of criminals, stating, “Too often, responsible gun owners, like those we saw at the Capitol today, are held responsible for the thugs, criminals, and felons who commit heinous acts of violence with illegally acquired firearms.”
