Village of Rockton Board of Trustees met June 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm.

Present: Mayor Peterson, Mr. Baumgartner, Mr. Danielson, Mrs. Honkamp, Ms. May, Mr. Winters, Mr. York and Atty. Szeto

Staff present: Dan Barber, Sally Bennett, Tricia Diduch, Chief Hollinger and Connie Kieffer

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion by Mr. Winters, second by Mr. Baumgartner, to waive the reading of the May 21, 2024 Village Board meeting minutes. All ayes. Motion approved 6-0.

Motion by Mr. Winters, second by Mrs. Honkamp, to approve the May 21, 2024 Village Board meeting minutes. All ayes. Motion approved 6-0.

AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA

None.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Diane LaForge with the 50 North Senior Activity Center updated the Village Board in regards to the program. Ms. LaForge stated that they are back to holding meetings at the Greater Rockton Centre on the first and third Tuesdays of the month and that their group is growing. Ms. LaForge thanked the Village for their continued support and stated that if someone from the Village would like to speak at one of their meetings to let her know.

PUBLIC SAFETY AND LEGAL & BUDGET – MR. WINTERS

Mr. Winters shared the Rockton Police Department activity summary from May 16th – 31st with the Village Board.

ADMINISTRATION – MR. YORK

None.

WATER, SEWER, AND GARBAGE – MS. MAY

Motion by Ms. May to approve Resolution 2024-110: A Resolution of the Village of Rockton, Illinois Authorizing the Village to Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement Between the Village and the Board of Education of the Hononegah Community High School District No. 207, Regarding Water Main Relocation Improvements, second by Mr. Baumgartner. Roll call. All ayes. Motion approved 6-0.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – MR. DANIELSON

None.

BUILDINGS AND PARKS – MRS. HONKAMP

Mrs. Honkamp shared the Parks/Rec activity summary from the past two weeks with the Village Board.

Motion by Mrs. Honkamp to approve the fireworks display permit for Old Settler’s Days to be held on Sunday, June 16th, second by Mr. Danielson. Roll call. All ayes. Motion approved 6-0.

STREETS AND WALKS – MR. BAUMGARTNER

None.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

None.

ACTION ON ITEMS ARISING OUT OF EXECUTIVE SESSION

PAYMENT OF BILLS

Motion by Mr. Winters, second by Mr. Baumgartner, to pay bills in the amount of $233,557.25. Roll call. All ayes. Motion approved 6-0.

Hearing no further business, motion by Mr. Winters, second by Ms. May, to adjourn at 7:12 pm. All ayes. Motion approved 6-0.
