State Representative Joe Sosnowski of Rockford expressed his readiness to resume legislative duties following the conclusion of the 2024 General Election. In a statement, Sosnowski emphasized the need for unity and civility in political discourse.
"Now that the election has concluded and voters have made their voices heard, it is time to get back to work," he stated. He highlighted concerns over "harsh political rhetoric and personal attacks" prevalent in media and advertisements, which he believes "marginalize the American public."
Sosnowski outlined several priorities for Illinois, focusing on affordability in living, working, starting businesses, education, and retirement security. "We have a lot of issues to tackle to make Illinois a more affordable place," he said.
Expressing gratitude for his re-election to serve another term in the Illinois House of Representatives for the 69th District, Sosnowski extended congratulations to local election winners across Winnebago, Boone, and McHenry Counties. He affirmed his commitment to collaboration: "We will work together to find solutions to the challenges families in our community are dealing with."
The representative looks forward to addressing these issues as legislators reconvene in Springfield for the Fall Veto Session over the next two weeks.
Representative Sosnowski serves an area encompassing parts of Winnebago, Boone, and McHenry Counties.
