Winners have been announced for the annual 69th District Photo Challenge Contest, sponsored by State Representative Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford. This contest provides Northern Illinois residents with a platform to showcase their photography skills.
The contest begins each September, with submissions due by the Friday before Thanksgiving in November. Participants can submit photos depicting nature, architecture, or daily life within Illinois' 69th District, covering parts of McHenry, Boone, and Winnebago Counties.
This year's winners are Sharon Thomas from Belvidere with "Belvidere Park Dam," Robert Woods from Rockford with "Soybean Sunset," and Lydia Ruehl from Hebron with "Farmall and Fields."
Each winning photo will be framed and displayed alongside previous years' winners in Representative Sosnowski's office at the Capitol Complex in Springfield.
Representative Sosnowski expressed his appreciation: “This year’s photo submissions brilliantly showcase the natural beauty that makes living and exploring here in our local communities unique,” he said. “I thank everyone who entered our Fall Photo Challenge this year for sharing their passion for photography and talents with us. I will be proud to share their exceptional photos with visitors and guests at the State Capitol in the coming year.”
