City of Carlyle Employee Concerns Committee met Nov. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The Employee Concerns Committee meeting was called to order by Employee Concerns Committee Chairman on November 12, 2024, at 6:15 p.m. at the Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, Illinois 62231. Committee members present were Employee Concerns Committee Chairman Jim McClaren, committee members Aldermen Tammy Peters, and Bruce Hilmes. Others present were City Administrator Brad Myers, City Clerk Rita Jurgensmeyer, Aldermen Scott Diekemper, Mike Jansen, John Hodapp, and Jeremy Weh. Alderman Jeff Taylor arrived at 6:38 p.m.

Approval of Minutes

Alderman Bruce Hilmes made a motion to approve the minutes from the Employee Concerns Committee meeting on October 29, 2024. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jim McClaren and approved by voice vote.

Executive Session

At 6:17 p.m. a motion by Alderman Bruce Hilmes to go into executive session to discuss 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity, and 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2) Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. The motion was seconded by Alderman Tammy Peters and was approved by voice vote. At 6:44 p.m. the committee returned to regular session. Alderman Tammy Peters made a motion to approve and take to council the recommendation to raise the hourly pay rate for Joseph Martin by $1.00. Alderman Bruce Hilmes seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Adjournment

At 6:45 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Bruce Hilmes. The motion was seconded by Alderman Tammy Peters and was approved by voice vote.
