Illinois residents who missed out on COVID stimulus payments in 2021 might soon receive up to $1,400 from the IRS. This initiative is part of a $2.4 billion distribution targeting approximately 1 million eligible taxpayers. The funds are designated for individuals who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns.

The IRS has provided detailed eligibility and payment information on its website. Taxpayers will be notified if they qualify for these payments.
