The City of Rockford is set to launch a new vacant and foreclosing property registration platform starting March 1, 2025. This initiative will be facilitated by Tolemi, a company providing the necessary technology for the registration process. Property owners currently registered will need to re-register on this new platform.

The city’s Register a Vacant/Foreclosing Property page will include a link to the new registry, known as the Vacant and Foreclosing Property Registry (VFPR) ordinance, along with any relevant documents. The updated system offers users a step-by-step guide during the registration process.

To complete the registration, property owners must provide details including their name, street address, telephone number, and email for each owner, authorized agent, and property manager. Definitions of what constitutes a vacant property are available in the ordinance linked on the website for those unsure about their property's status.

For any inquiries or information regarding vacant properties or if payments for the 2025 semi-annual renewal have already been made, individuals can contact through email at vacant and foreclosing property or by phone at 779-348-7440.
