Graduates earn 1,749 degrees, certificates from Rock Valley College

About 35.2 percent of the 1,749 degrees and certificates handed out by the Rock Valley College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Rockford conferred 616 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 612 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 230 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 199 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences.

The college enrolled 7,699 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
