Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District #1 responded to 274 calls in 2017 - 3.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Harlem-Roscoe #1 included 105 fires - 58 structure fires, 21 vehicle fires and 26 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,460,575 in fire loss - or about $13,910 per fire.

The department also received 168 false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.
