Judson University issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.
Judson University has announced that seven incoming freshmen have been selected to participate in the Judson Leadership Scholars (JLS) program. This is the fifth year for the program that offers leadership training and financial aid to students based on academic merit, leadership qualities and financial need.
The 2018-2019 Judson Leadership Scholars are (left to right): Beka Anderson of Terre Haute, Ind., who will study Early Childhood Education; Jennifer Carberry of Bartlett, Ill., who will major in Computer Science; Ce’Nedra Fogg of Bloomington, Ill., who plans to major in Biblical Studies; Ryan Milkie of De Pere, Wis., who will study Architecture; Madison Psinas of Pekin, Ill., who will study Architecture; Carista Ritchie of Pingree Grove, Ill., whose major is undecided; and Arianna Wink of Canandaigua, N.Y., who will study Psychology.
The Judson Leadership Scholarship program was established with funds raised from the annual World Leaders Forum event, which has welcomed global leaders, including Newt Gingrich and Howard Dean, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan as well as Felipe Calderon, Condoleezza Rice, Tony Blair, Mikhail Gorbachev, and George W. Bush since its inception in 2011. This is the most prestigious scholarship that a Judson University student can receive; up to seven recipients are selected for this honor annually. In order to be eligible, students must demonstrate creativity, leadership, innovation, mission and faith. They must also be in good academic standing, maintaining a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher. Additionally, student scholars agree to be ambassadors for the annual World Leaders Forum event.
Along with the financial aid package, Judson Leadership Scholars have access to unique opportunities for the purpose of cultivating their aptitude for leadership. They receive a sponsored ticket to the annual World Leaders Forum Community Event and get the opportunity to interview for the World Leaders Forum Internship position during their sophomore, junior and senior years at Judson. Student scholars are also invited to the Presidential Scholar Dinner in Chicago, an exclusive dinner with Judson’s president and a renowned business leader.
