ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE: Rock Valley College Welcomes Two New Leaders

Rock Valley College issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.

Rock Valley College is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Hardbarger as the college’s Dean of Aviation, Engineering & Apprenticeship, and Garry Krause as Vice President of Workforce Development.

As Dean of Aviation, Engineering & Apprenticeship, Hardbarger will oversee the Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship programs at RVC. Hardbarger was most recently the Director of CTE Program Development at Mohave Community College in Arizona. Prior to that he was a full-time faculty member for over 10 years at Gateway Technical College in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. He earned a Master in Science in Career and Technical Education from the University of Wisconsin – Stout.

Hardbarger began his new position at RVC on August 6.

Krause’s role as Vice President of Workforce Development will be to manage the college's Workforce and High Priority Occupation (HPO) development initiatives, including administration of the Advanced Technology Center, Center for Business and Industry, and apprenticeship development. He will also be charged with collaborating with local business, labor and governmental leaders to identify educational and talent needs that the college may be able to address, and direct efforts to create federal, state and local partnerships to resolve identified workforce and HPO educational needs and pathways.

Krause comes to RVC from Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin, where he served as Dean of Advanced Manufacturing, Transportation, IT, and Apprenticeship since 2013. He has worked in higher education since 1990 and also has many years of experience as a Project Leader/Manager in the electrical field in the private sector. He earned a doctorate in Organization Development from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis.

Krause will begin his duties at the college later this month.
