ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE: Prospective Community College Trustee Candidates April 2, 2019 Community College Board Election

Rock Valley College issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.

The Consolidated Election for members of the Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 511 (Rock Valley College) is required to be held April 2, 2019. At this election, three Board members shall be elected for a term of six years each and one Board member shall be elected for a term of two years. Said election shall be conducted by the County Clerks of the Counties within this District and the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of Rockford in the manner provided in the “Illinois Election Code” for conducting such elections.

The first day to circulate nominating petitions is Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

The filing period for filing statements of candidacy and nominating petitions with the Secretary of the Board or designated representative for the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election is December 10 – 17, 2018 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The Rock Valley College Board of Trustees shall call an election for members of the Community College Board to be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019 to elect three Board members for a term of six years each and one Board member for a term of two years. The Board of Trustees also appoints the Chief Financial Officer and staff as the Secretary of the Board’s designated representative to receive the statements of candidacy, nominating petitions, and election results from the various local election authorities and to transmit the results to the Board of Trustees within the time permitted by law (110 ILCS 805/3-7. 10).

Statements of candidacy and nominating petitions shall be filed in the Financial Services office in the Support Services Building at Rock Valley College, 3301 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CST each day except Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays beginning on Monday, December 10, 2018 and ending on Monday, December 17, 2018. Names of the candidates shall be submitted to the voters in the order determined by the applicable provisions of the Illinois Election Code.
