Rockford Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.
The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM) recognized the Rockford Police Department for making 490 DUI arrests in 2017, more than any other department in the State of Illinois excluding Chicago. RPD Traffic Investigator Andrew Hartman was individually honored for arresting more than 100 impaired drivers. Driving Under the Influence doesn't only pertain to alcohol. We ask anyone on prescription medications to avoid driving if the medicine advises against "operating heavy machinery," which includes vehicles. If you see a driver showing signs of impairment, report them. Let's make our streets safer together.
