Cherry Valley Public Library issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.
For all ages – Did you know that the clear winter sky is perfect for stargazing? Join us as we meet inside the library with a brief overview of telescope use and then (weather permitting) move outside to check out the night sky. This program is led by the Rockford Amateur Astronomers.
Among other things, we will be looking for the comet called “Comet46P/Wirtanen”. It’s anticipated path will make it one of the ten closest-approaching comets of the Space Age! Dress appropriately for the temperature.
The program is for all ages – children, teens, and adults, but kids must be accompanied by an adult. Please register all attendees separately. Please visit our online calendar or call the library to register your attendance. 815-332-5161
