Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on March 15.
Mercyhealth is pleased to announce one of its physicians has received an award from the University of Illinois College of Medicine’s Rockford Medical Student Council. Each month, its members choose representatives of the University of Illinois College of Medicine community to recognize with a certificate and special thank you.
RMSC announced the Faculty and Staff Aureus Award for the month of February went to Dr. Elizabeth Pickvance.
The following is an excerpt from the college’s announcement:
Dr. Elizabeth Pickvance; Mercyhealth Pediatric Orthopedics
–“Dr Pickvance has been extremely supportive since I rotated with her. She has gone above and beyond to teach and advise me and many other students. She has always been willing to stay after hours to provide guidance and support. She has helped multiple students make connections to people in specialties of our interest and we are all very thankful for her!
–“Dr. Pickvance does a great job of overseeing students while they are rotating in orthopedics at Mercy. She lets the students choose where they want to spend their time while rotating whether that’s in the OR or clinic and with adult or pediatric patient populations. Beyond this, Dr. Pickvance has been an advocate for students to make sure we are set up for success in our futures. She has gone above and beyond for me to help me make connections with physicians in the specialty I am interested in applying to for residency. It is evident that she truly cares about student’s success and she is always willing to take time out of her day to help us.
