The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. LaToya Greenwood (D-114) on April 26, "declares the date of May 8, 2019 as Alpha Kappa Alpha Day in the State of Illinois in honor of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and its work," according to the General Assembly website.
