Jerry Evans, a candidate for Illinois' 11th Congressional District, acknowledged the election results in a Facebook post on November 6, expressing gratitude with a simple "Thank you."
"Thank you," said Evans, according to Facebook.
According to Ballotpedia, official vote tallies from the Illinois Secretary of State’s office are still pending for the November 6 general election. However, it reports that Evans received 135,995 votes, or 43.4%, while incumbent Democrat Bill Foster garnered 177,066 votes, or 56.6% of the total 313,061 votes cast. Independent write-in candidate Anna Schiefelbein reportedly received no votes.

In the March primary election, Evans emerged victorious over two challengers: Susan Hathaway-Altman, who secured 37.1% of the votes, and Kent Mercado, who received 4,312 votes.
Evans shared a screenshot of a letter to voters in his Facebook post. He said: "Running for Congress has been the honor of my life, and the individuals I have encountered along the way have made my life incredibly more fulfilling." He further expressed gratitude to volunteers and supporters and conveyed his intention to continue serving his community. "My wife and I extend our heartfelt congratulations to Congressman Foster and extend our sincere prayers for his and his family’s well-being and wisdom," he added.
Evans' campaign platform emphasized limited government and accountability alongside investments in transportation infrastructure and energy independence. His agenda also included comprehensive border security solutions, strong foreign policy initiatives, support for veterans, addressing crime issues while supporting law enforcement, ensuring parental involvement in education decisions, and promoting free market policies within a framework of fiscal responsibility.
Evans is known for his focus on education and community service near Chicago. As a small businessman and founder of a suburban music school, he holds a degree in music from Wheaton College. Residing in Warrenville with his family, he actively engages in mentoring programs as well as missionary training sessions and missions abroad to India, Mexico, and South Africa. Raised with Midwestern values emphasizing hard work and community assistance alongside four siblings informs much of his outlook.
