Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Boone County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Boone County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Boone County were men. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 31-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Shane Wells. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 44 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Boone County municipality.
