SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL: SwedishAmerican Kicks Off Back-to-School Cereal Drive

Announcement

SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.

SwedishAmerican has partnered with the Rock River Valley Food Pantry to hold a back-to-school cereal drive. The new initiative launched August 12 and runs through August 22.

According to Rock River Valley Food Pantry Executive Director Kim Adams-Bakke, August brings a large need for breakfast items for local students returning to school. About one-third of all of the pantry’s beneficiaries are children.

“We are very excited to be partnering with SwedishAmerican on this program that will benefit the children of our community,” Adams-Bakke said. “Every child needs to start their morning with a nutritious meal, as it prepares the body both physically and cognitively for the day. By donating cereal, SwedishAmerican employees will make a difference in the lives of the children that need emergency food assistance from the Rock River Valley Pantry.”

Drop-off bins are located at several different locations throughout the SwedishAmerican health system, including the State Street Hospital entrance, Heart Hospital lobby, Camelot Tower, Ninth Street Center, SwedishAmerican Plaza and Regional Cancer Center.
