Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Dr. Michael DeVisser to the Emergency Medicine staff of Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside and Rockton, Rockford.
Dr. DeVisser’s special interests include ultrasound techniques and ultrasound-guided procedures. His main focuses are listening carefully to his patients, encouraging their input, and coming to a common understanding of their condition. “I make sure the patient has decision-making ability concerning their health. I think shared decision-making is important. I also try to have my patients leave the hospital with all of their questions answered and concerns heard.”
After earning his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Dr. DeVisser completed his residency at Cook County Health & Hospitals System, Chicago.
