PUBLIC COMMENT:

TREASURER’S REPORT: August 2019 Report by Treasurer Karen Melloch.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: JIM E. CLAEYSSEN.

      1. Motion that the Village Board approve a Special Event Permit for Kegel Harley Davidson, 7125 Harrison Avenue, Rockford, Illinois to host a Rockin’ for Rescue Dog Adoption Event on September 7, 2019.

      2. Motion that the Village Board approve a Special Event Permit for Kegel Harley Davidson, 7125 Harrison Avenue, Rockford, Illinois for Bike Night on September 17, 2019.

      3. Motion that the Village Board approve a Special Event Permit for Kegel Harley Davidson, 7125 Harrison Avenue, Rockford, Illinois to host the Pink Heals Cancer Event on September 21, 2019.

      4. Motion that the Village Board approve Resolution 2019-16; A Resolution Authorizing the Release of Closed Session Minutes (Committee and Village Board Meetings from 2001).

      5. Motion that the Village Board approve Resolution 2019-17; A Resolution Authorizing That Various Committee Meeting and Village Board Meeting Minutes From 2001 Be Held Closed at This Time (Since the Need for Confidentiality Still Exists as to All or A Part of These Minutes).

      6. Village Board discussion and a possible motion regarding the construction of a storage building located at 617 Elgin Street, Cherry Valley, IL 61016.

ORDINANCE REPORT BY TRUSTEE: NANCY BELT.

      1. Motion that the Village Board reconsider the passage of Ordinance 2019-15 “An Ordinance Amending the Code of Ordinances for The Village of Cherry Valley, Illinois Chapter 82 Accessory Buildings/Structures, Sections 82-3 And 82-10”.

      2. Motion that the Village Board waive the rules and consider this the second and final reading of “An Ordinance Amending Chapter 70 Traffic and Vehicles, Article V. Inoperable Vehicles of The Village of Cherry Valley Code of Ordinances”.

      3. Motion that the Village Board pass and approve Ordinance 2019-16 “An Ordinance Amending Chapter 70 Traffic and Vehicles, Article V. Inoperable Vehicles of The Village of Cherry Valley Code of Ordinances”.

FINANCE REPORT BY TRUSTEE: JEFF O’HARA.

PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT BY TRUSTEE: JEFF FUSTIN.

PUBLIC WORKS REPORT BY TRUSTEE: STEPHEN APPELL.

      1. Motion that the Village Board approve hiring Engel Electric Company, Sterling, IL to install a Video Detection System for the Newburg Road and Mill Road Intersection at cost of $30,785.00 from line item 5375 Capital Improvements.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REPORT BY TRUSTEE: DAVID SCHROEDER.

      1. Motion that the Village Board approve of Benny and Rosalia Salamone’s replat of part of lots 10 & 11, Block 5 of Salamone’s Plat, Cherry Valley, Illinois.

PERSONNEL REPORT BY TRUSTEE: SALLY HOLLEMBEAK.

      1. Motion that the Village Board approve Patrol Officer Paul Lipinski as an Acting Sergeant for the Cherry Valley Police Department starting September 4, 2019 through April 30, 2020.

      2. Motion that the Village Board the approve the hiring of a new Patrol Officer (to fill a vacancy within the Police Department) at a starting salary of $52,580.00 pending approval of all pre-employment requirements.

      3. Motion that the Village Board approve the tuition cost for a new Patrol Officer to attend the Police Training Academy in Springfield, Illinois at a cost of $3,979.24 from line item 5195P. (This amount will be reimbursed to the village by the Illinois Law Enforcement State Training Board at a later date).
