SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.
SwedishAmerican is pleased to welcome new cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Thomas Hinkamp to the Heart Institute.
Dr. Hinkamp brings 27 years of experience to SwedishAmerican. He received his medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola and completed his residency and fellowship at Loyola Medical Center. Originally from Wilmette, he is a board-certified in thoracic surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care.
“I pursued a career in the medical field after going through heart surgery myself as a teenager,” Dr. Hinkamp said. “I strive for empathetic personalized care and surgical excellence.”
