SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.
SwedishAmerican officially kicked off its holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony today.
Employees gathered in the lobby of the Heart Hospital to celebrate with cookies, music from the West Middle School Choir, and appearances from SAM the mascot, the Caring Canines and Santa.
This year’s honorary tree lighters were sisters Dalila and Sophie Valdiviezo. Dalila and Sophie are patients in our pediatric speech therapy department who were both born at SwedishAmerican and attend the Ryan Jury Center.
Also during the ceremony, SwedishAmerican President and CEO Jennifer Maher officially launched this year’s holiday give-back to the community. For the next two weeks, SwedishAmerican employees at all locations in the health system will be donating toiletry items for Miss Carly’s. Miss Carly’s is a local charitable organization that helps community members in need with things such as food, shelter and toiletries.
