Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.
Mercyhealth RMH Auxiliary Volunteers presented a check for more than $150,000 to the Mercyhealth Development Foundation at the Auxiliary’s annual meeting on November 7 at Franchesco’s in Rockford. This generous gift brings this dedicated group of volunteers’ cumulative, lifetime gifts to the Foundation to an impressive total of nearly $8.5 million. Monies are raised through donations, memorial gifts and sales at the Auxiliary’s Gift Shops, Thrift Shop and Holiday Markets, and will be used for a variety of vital programs and services that benefit Mercyhealth patients and their families.
Some of the programs funded by the Auxiliary that continue to make a difference for patients and families include new wheelchairs, meal cards for family members, personal hygiene items, healing harp music, computers for Project SEARCH students, digital scales and pulse oximeters, scholarships for students pursuing medical careers and support of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile that provides free medical and dental care for area children in need.
Auxiliary Board President and Foundation Board Member, Lisa Rudy, stated, “We are very excited to be making this gift to the Foundation that will be used to provide vital programs and services to those receiving care throughout Mercyhealth. Many thanks to all the dedicated volunteers, patrons and donors who helped raise these important funds.”
