SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL: We’re so excited to introduce Dr. Aleida Rodriguez as our newest provider at the Riverwest Clinic

SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.

New endrocrinologist Dr. Rodriguez started with us in September at our Brookside Specialty Center. In January, she will also start seeing patients at the Riverwest Clinic, located on Rockford’s southwest side. “I’m very excited to get to know the Rockford south side population here and get involved with our community,” Dr. Rodriguez said.

Dr. Rodriguez got her start in medicine as a young girl helping her mother in a small village in Mexico. Her mother would make herbal teas and she would deliver them after school to the sick elderly. “That’s all they had,” Dr. Rodriguez said. “Growing up I saw first-hand people suffering from illness and not being able to afford going to the doctor. There was poverty and no resources and no doctors. That inspired me to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor.”

When it comes to her patients, Dr. Rodriguez said a major goal of hers is to empower her patients with information regarding their medical conditions and provide them with tools to improve their medical conditions. The first person in her family to graduate from college, Dr. Rodriguez received her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed her fellowship in endocrinology at Rush Medical Center. At Swedes, she is supported by an excellent team that is dedicated to patient care with nurse Heather Vrolyk and medical assistant Tessa Winger, who will both accompany her at Riverwest as well.

Dr. Rodriguez said. “As doctors, we get the honor of being a part of someone’s life, and I want my patients to know that I am here for them.”

We’re so lucky to have you in our Swedes family, Dr. Rodriguez!
