Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.
Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Dr. Utpal Dhruve to the psychiatry staff of Javon Bea Hospital-Rockton, 2400 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford.
Dr. Dhruve strives to improve the lives of his patients. “I attempt to understand all variables that can affect a patient’s current condition. These can help target the root cause of symptoms. From there, we can plan safe and effective treatment that will empower patients to further improve their lives. I am particularly interested in mental health care for emerging adults and high-functioning individuals who tend not to seek out mental health services, but who are hampered by symptoms. Effective treatment helps these individuals improve the trajectory of their lives and achieve their next level of success.
Dr. Dhruve earned his medical degree at the Medical University of the Americans, Nevis, British West Indies, and served his Psychiatry residency at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison. He is certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Complementary, alternative and emerging treatment modalities
