Winnebago County issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.
The North Park Public Water District has a vacancy on its seven member governing board and is now seeking a qualified candidate. The appointee will fill the remainder of an existing 5-year term and be paid a stipend of $1,200 per year as established by the Illinois Public Water Act. Members are appointed by the Winnebago County Board Chairman with the advice and consent of the County Board.
North Park Water provides water to a population of 33,000, encompassing 12,000 households and businesses in the Machesney Park, Roscoe, and Loves Park.
