Winnebago Sheriff Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.
On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit, along with the Tac Team, executed a search warrant in the 4900 block of Dorset Drive in Rockford, Illinois. Upon entry to the residence, Alexander Kiddell ran into the bathroom in an attempt to dispose of a large amount of narcotics. Deputies observed Kiddell reaching for a loaded handgun that was located near him and he was taken into custody after a lengthy struggle. During a search of the residence, Deputies located over 2,300 grams of suspected cocaine and over 6 pounds of cannabis. Deputies also located an amount of MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly), psilocybin mushrooms, Adderall pills, Hydrocodone pills, Xanax bars and a second loaded handgun. The Winnebago County States Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and authorized the following charges:
~Alexander A. Kiddell (12/5/82) of Rockford.
-Armed Violence
-Unlawful use of weapons by a felon
-Obstructing justice/destroy evidence
-Resisting a peace officer
-Possession of cocaine with intent to deliver over 900 grams
-Possession of cannabis with intent to deliver 2,000-5,000 grams
-5 counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver
-2 counts of possession of a controlled substance
The charges against Alexander Kiddell are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
