SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL: SwedishAmerican Hospital is First Northern Illinois to Install Self-Serve "ScriptCenter" to Pick Up

Pharmacy

SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Jan. 30.

SwedishAmerican unveiled a self-serve pharmacy kiosk Thursday on the third floor of its main hospital campus at 1401 E. State Street in Rockford. The free-standing “ScriptCenter” is the first of its kind in Northern Illinois.

“This easy access approach to prescription refills is safe, private, and convenient,” said SwedishAmerican Director of Pharmacy Tom Carey. “It works for patients when a traditional pharmacy doesn’t by allowing patients to pick up prescriptions when it’s convenient for them.”

ScriptCenter can be used by patients, SwedishAmerican employees, and their family members and allows people to pick up their prescriptions at the kiosk 24/7. The prescriptions are filled by the pharmacy and loaded into the kiosk twice a day, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Patients receive a “Claim Check” via text or email when their prescriptions are ready for pick-up.

“Anything called in by 2 p.m. is guaranteed to be filled and put into the ScriptCenter kiosk on the same day,” said SwedishAmerican Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy Manager Lisa Dyer. “The only medications that we cannot dispense through the kiosk are those needing refrigeration or unique instructions.”

To sign up to use the ScriptCenter kiosk, text “PROMO” to 779-210-6907, then pick up your gift at the ScriptCenter kiosk conveniently located at the end of the 3rd floor hospital concourse, and complete the sign-up process by opting-in to begin using ScriptCenter.

For more information, call the Outpatient Pharmacy at (779) 696-1130.
