Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Boone County?

There were 13 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Boone County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Boone County were men. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced for a crime against one or more children in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Peter Hernandez. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2011 when he was 19 years old. He is now 28.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Boone County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
