Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on March 6.
Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Dr. Valentina Dalili-Shoaie to the Genetics staff of the Mercyhealth Physician Clinic-Riverside, Rockford.
Dr. Dalili-Shoaie strives to help patients of all ages with genetic conditions. “Simple lessons learned during childhood resonated with how I defined myself and what I wanted to achieve in life, creating an impetus to serve and to heal through the field of medicine. Preemptive diagnosis, detection and screening are the paradigm of my Genetics practice, representing one of the most enjoyable aspects of what I do. While the field of genetics is traditionally grounded in Pediatrics, my training in Internal Medicine serves as a unique window into detecting hereditary conditions in the adult population and continuing the surveillance of syndromes originally identified in childhood.”
Dr. Dalili-Shoaie earned her medical degree at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and served her Internal Medicine residency at UMDNJ/Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. She also completed a Clinical Genetics fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Boston. Dr. Dalili-Shoaie is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics (FACMG).
Dr. Dalili-Shoaie is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics with added certification in Clinical Genetics and Genomics. Her special interests include cardiovascular genetics, neurogenetics and cancer genetics.
